KASBI Protests Minimum Wage In DKI Jakarta

Kompas featured a photo from Kongres Aliansi Serikat Buruh Indonesia’s (Kasbi) demonstration on November 2nd in front of the Governor’s office in Jakarta.  The demonstrators called for a regional minimum wage of 3.2 million rupiah monthly wage, which would roughly triple the current minimum wage in DKI Jakarta.  This was in reaction to information suggesting the government will only raise the minimum wage by 5 – 7 percent.
